I'm fascinated by personal stories and helping people find their voice through still photography or documentary filmmaking. As a photographer and video producer, my goal is to create experiences that capture and celebrate uniqueness.
I balance my work between video production and photography. Growing up in Northwest Florida, I've been drawn to many different roles of production. I feel most creative as a camera operator, video editor, grip and photographer. In my career, I have been fortunate to have my photographs published and earn awards for my photography and video editing. With my 6 years of experience, I sit as Vice President of Panhandle Professional Photographers and mentor media students at a local high school with the goal to inspire creative solution-finding and confidence building.
In addition to my work as Jon Deckert Stills + Motion, I teamed up with Christine York in 2016 to launch Flomobooth: The Slow Motion Video Booth. Our combined skill sets make for super snazzy slow motion highlight films for Weddings, Corporate Events and Parties.
When I'm not sculpting light and capturing moments worth remembering, I love learning (or laughing!) with the help of YouTube videos, enjoying a freshly brewed cup of coffee and exploring the vast landscape of life.
